Intimate Backyard Wedding in Bozeman, Montana
I am excited to share this sweet wedding that took place on a spring Tuesday evening just outside of Bozeman.
Small, intimate and absolutely perfect in every way.
After raining most of the afternoon, the skies cleared just in time for Madilyn and David to exchange vows surrounded by their immediate family. Between the white umbrellas, rolling views and fresh Montana air after the storm passed through, it felt like one of those evenings you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.
One of my favorite parts of the ceremony was that they had memorized their vows. Standing in front of the people they love most, they spoke to one another without notes, creating a ceremony that felt incredibly personal and true to who they are.
Afterwards, we drove down the road for portraits at Triple Tree Trail and were greeted by everything I have quickly come to love about Montana. Deer wandered through the fields, wildflowers were beginning to bloom, and tall grasses stretched in every direction beneath the mountains. It felt like the world had slowed down for a little while, giving them the chance to simply enjoy being newly married.
When we returned, family had gathered beneath a tent for dinner, conversation and celebration. The evening unfolded naturally from there with a first dance, cake cutting and plenty of time spent together before everyone found themselves dancing beneath the lights outdoors as the sun disappeared for the evening.
As I was driving home, I kept thinking about how much I loved the simplicity of the day. There wasn’t a packed timeline or a long list of events to rush through. Instead, there was space to be present, spend time with family and actually enjoy the moments that make a wedding day so meaningful in the first place.
Madilyn and David, thank you for trusting me to document such a beautiful beginning to your marriage. It was an honor to celebrate alongside you and preserve these memories for years to come. Feeling extra lucky to be a Montana wedding photographer! <3

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings in Montana is how different every celebration can feel. Some couples choose the mountains, others gather on family property, and some keep things intentionally small with only their closest family and friends present.
Madilyn and David’s wedding was a reminder that meaningful celebrations don’t require a large guest list or an elaborate venue. Sometimes all you need is a beautiful evening, the people you love most, and the chance to be fully present with one another.
As a Montana wedding photographer based in Bozeman, I love documenting weddings that prioritize connection, experience, and the moments that often become the most treasured memories years later. Whether you’re planning a backyard wedding, a private ceremony, an intimate gathering, or a larger celebration somewhere in southwest Montana, every wedding deserves to be documented in a way that feels honest and true to the people at the center of it.
